al hartley (1976). back in november i went to the ICA comica exhibition. i don't read comics nor am i a fan of them, but to my surprise i really liked the ones they were showing. i think it could have something to do with the fact that these were quite dark and grim, published by underground and alternative productions. some of the titles were: "a satirical road trip by a pair of aging homophobes"-trucker fags in denial (jim goad); "a candid guide to sexual fulfilment for amputees"- amputee love (rene jenson); "a psychedelic romance in swinging sixties london"-mod love (michael lutin). yeah you get the idea.
